What it's like
Fifth Avenue isn't an official district. We use the name for the 5th Avenue stretch from Aurelia Residences at McKinley Parkway, past One Bonifacio High Street and Shangri-La at the Fort, up to 32nd Street and St. Luke's Medical Center. It's mostly office towers, with a few high-end residential buildings and the hotel's restaurants, bars and sports club.
It suits executives on corporate housing budgets and anyone who wants hotel-style service: the Shangri-La residences share their tower with the hotel. 2BRs there (80–95 sqm) are listed at about ₱135,000–158,000 a month, and a 1BR at about ₱95,000. Aurelia's 3BRs are about ₱390,000. It's also the place to live if you want St. Luke's within a few minutes' walk.
Central and walkable: High Street's west end is about 5 minutes away. Office crowds fill the sidewalks by day; nights are quieter than on High Street, apart from the hotel bars. BGC as a whole rarely floods: a detention tank under Burgos Circle holds up to 22,000 cubic meters of storm water and releases it after the rain. The roads out of BGC are another matter, so plan around rush hour and heavy rain (see Getting around).
